Terms of Use
The rules and conditions governing your use of MrMorning and related services.
Acceptance of Terms
By inviting, using, or accessing the MrMorning Discord bot ("Bot") or any related website, API, or service operated by Jemire ("we," "us," "our") (together, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of a server, community, or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind them to these Terms.
Description of Service
MrMorning is a Discord bot that helps communities track daily greeting streaks and chains (e.g., "good morning," "good afternoon," "good night") and displays leaderboards.
Key features of the Service include:
- Greeting streaks and chains — tracks consecutive days a community greets and how many unique members join each greeting.
- Server and global leaderboards — per-server contributor leaderboard and global guild-by-streak leaderboard.
- Badges — guilds can earn badges (e.g., Alpha, Beta, streak milestones, chain milestones) displayed on leaderboards and guild info pages.
- Privacy and anonymity — users can choose to show their real username or appear as "Anonymous#hash" on leaderboards (
/privacy show//privacy hide). Server admins can control global leaderboard visibility via/settings privacy. - Data portability and deletion —
/data requestprovides a copy of your data;/data delete confirm: trueschedules deletion after a 24-hour delay (usecancel: trueto cancel before it executes). - Supporter system — users holding a qualifying role in the Jemsire Discord server are listed as supporters, may appear in bot status shoutouts, and may grant their servers a Supporter tag on the website.
- Analytics — daily aggregate snapshots of platform-wide metrics (no personal data) are available via API for trend charts.
- Downtime streak protection — if the bot is offline for 10+ minutes, that period is recorded and any greeting window that fell during the outage is excused so streaks are not broken unfairly.
Related services may also include a web dashboard for server configuration and public leaderboard pages with a read-only API.
Eligibility and Discord's Terms
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.
- Use of the Bot occurs within Discord and is subject to Discord's Terms of Service and Discord's Guidelines. We may take action, including removing the Bot from a server, if we believe use violates Discord's rules or our Terms.
- You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Bot in your server complies with your server's own rules and any applicable laws.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or Discord's terms and guidelines.
- Use the Service to harass, abuse, defame, or harm others, or to send spam or malicious content.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, our systems, or other users' data (e.g., hacking, scraping beyond normal use of the public API).
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or logic from the Bot or related software, except where expressly permitted by law.
- Use the Service in a way that could damage, overburden, or impair the Service or our infrastructure (e.g., abuse of the API, automated abuse of commands).
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service in a way we have not explicitly allowed.
- Remove or alter any notices (e.g., attribution, terms, privacy) we provide.
Server Administration and Permissions
- Server admins: If you add the Bot to a Discord server, you are responsible for how the Bot is used in that server. You should ensure that server members are aware the Bot may process messages in enabled channels and that leaderboard data may be publicly visible. You can control server name visibility (
/settings privacy) and individual users can control name display (/privacy). - Permissions: You grant us the permissions necessary for the Bot to function (e.g., reading messages in configured channels, sending messages, reading server structure). We use these only to provide the Service as described in our documentation and Privacy Policy.
- Removal: You may remove the Bot from your server at any time through Discord. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data after removal.
Intellectual Property
The Service, including the Bot, website, API, branding, and content we provide (excluding user-generated content and Discord's property), is owned by Jemire or our licensors. You do not acquire any ownership rights by using the Service. You may not use our trademarks, logos, or branding without our prior written permission.
Disclaimers
You use the Service at your own risk. We are not responsible for any conduct of users in your server or for content posted by users. We are not responsible for any decisions you make based on leaderboard data, badge status, supporter listings, or other output of the Service.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- Jemire and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunity) arising out of or related to your use or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
- Our total liability for any claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or, if you have not paid us, ten United States dollars (USD $10).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities, so some of the above may not apply to you. In such cases, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Jemire and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use of the Service.
- Your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.
- Your violation of any third-party rights.
- Any content or activity in your server related to use of the Bot.
Termination
- By you: You may stop using the Service at any time (e.g., by removing the Bot from your server and ceasing use of the website/API).
- By us: We may suspend or terminate your or your server's access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for violation of these Terms.
- Effect: Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. Sections that by their nature should survive (including Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law) will survive termination.
Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. For material changes, we may provide additional notice (e.g., in our support server or on our website). If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service.
General
- Entire agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies we publish for the Service, constitute the entire agreement between you and Jemire regarding the Service.
- Severability: If any part of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts will remain in effect.
- Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not waive that right or provision.
- Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under them without our consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
- Governing law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State that we designate, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that State, except where prohibited by law or where we agree otherwise.
